Cholesteryl ester transfer protein (CETP) is a member of the lipid transfer/lipopolysaccharide binding protein gene family. CETP transfers neutral lipids from high-density lipoprotein (HDL) to very low-density lipoprotein (VLDL) and is present in normal human plasma and serum. Rabbit Serum CETP Positive Control is a supplemental reagent for CETP Activity Assay and CETP Inhibitor Drug Screening Kits, which use a donor molecule containing a fluorescent self-quenched neutral lipid. The transfer of fluorescent lipid to an acceptor molecule in the presence of CETP results in an increase in fluorescence (Excitation: 465 nm, Emission: 535 nm). The Rabbit Serum provides a CETP source that can be used as a positive control in CETP assays. Format: Serum collected from rabbits. Thimerosal is added at 0.2%.
