Characteristics Identity and purity is confirmed by immunoelectrophoresis and double radial immunodiffusion (Ouchterlony) using antisera to guinea pig total serum proteins.
Purification The protein is isolated from plasma using ion exchange chromatography, affinity chromatography and gelfiltration. Chromatographically purified guinea pig IgG
Purity > = 95 % as determined by agar-gel electrophoresis. Tested in a concentration of 10 mg/mL at the level of sensitivity of the applied immunoprecipitating techniques, this product contains traces of other proteins.

Application Notes Purified guinea pig IgG may be used as a reference antigen, calibrator, coating protein and blocking agent in a variety of immunoassays including immunodiffusion, immunoelectrophoresis, ELISA, Western blotting, dot-immunobinding assays (DIBA), haemagglutination, and cell-binding assays.

Reconstitution After opening the vial, the lyophilized content is reconstituted by adding 1 mL of sterile distilled water, mixed gently by inversion until complete dissolution is obtained. Allow to stand at ambient temperature for 5-10 minutes to reach equilibrium.

Handling Advice Working dilutions may be prepared by adding the required amount of phosphate buffered saline (PBS), should not be refrozen and preferably used within 24 hours. Repeated thawing and freezing should be avoided. If a slight precipitation occurs upon storage, this should be removed by centrifugation and will not affect the performance of the product.
