Inhibitor of fatty acid synthase (FAS), which reduces food intake and body weight in mice. C75 exhibits irreversible slow-binding biphasic inactivation of fatty acid synthase. C75 has been shown to down regulate neuropeptide Y and agouti-related protein expression. Has been proposed to activate CPT-1 activity in liver and adipose tissue, leading to increased fatty acid oxidation and energy production. Shows significant in vivo anti-tumor activity in human breast cancer cells. Suppresses DNA replication and induces apoptosis.
